David Shier: One Man, A Van, and A Vision

David Shier is a testament to the power of hard work, skilled trades, and entrepreneurial vision. With 23 years in the trades, David began his journey as a one-man operation with just a van and a dream. In 2012, he founded his own electrical contracting company, building it from the ground up with the expertise gained from his associate degree at KVCC and his national electrical apprenticeship certification.

Today, as a master electrician, David's vision has expanded far beyond that single van. Together with his wife and their four children, the Shier family has built seven diverse companies spanning energy electrical contracting, energy sustainability, consulting, IT, real estate, and even hobby farming. What started as one man's determination has grown into a family enterprise that now employs 41 people and serves multiple sectors of our local economy.

David's story embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our community—proving that with skilled tradesmanship, dedication, and a clear vision, a single van can become the foundation for a thriving business.
